The north Londoners wanted to open the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’ last September but numerous delays mean the test events have not even been announced as of yet. However, the club are pushing forward with their plans and reportedly hope to have both events completed by the end of next month.According to football.london Spurs are reportedly aiming to have the first event take place on March 16, with the second following 14 days later on the 30. If these plans come to fruition and the certificate is awarded by the end of March, Tottenham could play their opening match at their new stadium on April 6 – with Brighton the first visitors. However, that fixture could be rearranged if the Seagulls book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals by beating Championship strugglers Millwall, with the semi-finals due to take place the same weekend. Both the Premier League and UEFA are ready for Tottenham to move into the new arena before the end of the season, with European football’s governing body allowing Spurs to play a potential Champions League quarter-final there; the north Londoners have one foot in the last eight having beaten Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.
