Having looked uninspired and unmotivated under Mourinho, the Red Devils have got their mojo back under Solskjaer, who withSunday’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham become the first United manager to win all of his first six games as manager. There has been no official word on Uniteds progress as they search for their next full-time boss, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, Massimiliano Allegri and even England boss Gareth Southgate linked with the role. But many have tipped Solskjaer to continue his good work at Old Trafford, and Sheringham, who scored United’s first goal in the 1999 Champions League final beforeSolskjaer’s winner, believes his old strike partner has what it takes.Speaking to talkSPORT host Jim White, Sheringham said: Ole is definitely asking the question, isnt he? He obviously wants the job.Hes loving every minute but you can tell hes not being overawed by anything, hes getting results and hes getting the team flowing in full.Sheringham and Solskjaer are loved by United fans for the goals they scored in the 1999 Champions League final win over Bayern Munich2

Hes really brought a breath of fresh air back to Manchester United recently and long may it continue.Hes getting the results, hes in the hotseat at the moment, hes got the chance. Who knows whats going on above him, he cant do anything about that. All he needs to do is keep getting results and it speaks for itself, the players are obviously loving him, loving what hes doing and how he wants them to play.Theyre playing with a smile on their faces and theyre getting results, what more could you want?Hes putting himself firmly in the hunt for the job.Listen back to Jim White’s interview with Teddy Sheringham IN FULL above
